Executive Action On Start Times (DO’s, Distribution,Processing)

Dear All,

A full comprehensive list of delivery office start times has been “released” by the business. In relation to HA/UB the following was revealed:

Edgware – 08:00 to 15:50
Harrow DO/Auriol Drive – 0800 – 15:45
Hayes – 08:00 – 15:50
Northolt – 08:00 to 16:00
Northwood – 0800: to 15:36
Pinner – 08:00 to 15:36
Ruislip – 08:00 to 15:40
Stanmore – 08:00 to 15:40
Uxbridge 08:00 to 15:40
Wembley – 08:00 to 15:32

The above has not been agreed nationally nor locally. The “idea” by the business is based on Wednesday traffic and the above would apply to heavy weeks in the year (4 weeks’ notice) and the time worked over would be “credited” on lighter days/weeks of the year. The following is noted/declared by the branch;

Even if those times/system was agreed – local office management and above cannot give 4 minutes notice on the weather let alone 4-weeks on later finishing times. The biggest issue amongst HA UB members is not knowing what they are doing day to day
All of the above would change start/finish times for processing and distribution
The branch envisages that such executive action is hugely “prevocational” in order to make the current (and future) national ballots invalid due to legal advice by the business’s (anti-trade union experts/army) of legal firm(s). Meaning the millionaires courts.
The branch also views all of the business’s executive action(s) as decimating the postal service in the UK
The branch has noted that the business’s public declaration of losing £1 million” per year has omitted the fact that any profit made will not be “put back in to the business”. No new vans, no PDA, no new products and services, no new recruitment and a terrible un-agreed calculation on how to make a unit/function “more efficient”

We would advise all reps to advertise all of this emails content and also strongly advise that this is no time for sitting on the fence in the current ballot. Vote yes to reject the business’s proposals/executive action. Vote yes to place a vote of no confidence in the Royal Mail board. Vote yes to save the UK postal service.

As an ad note – the branch has noted that during these troubling times for all working-class families in the UK, the branch rejects the current government leadership “ballot” and rejects the mainstream media’s notion that our CWU members even care.

All working-class families will be in some form of financial hardship at some point and the CWU will be one of many trade unions rejecting big business “strategies” and rejecting the mainstream media’s narrative of trade unions as “loonie lefts”. There is nothing loonie about making a choice to heat or eat
